Collection Preparation

Before you can collect or edit any assets, you will need to do the following:

1. Add the data you need.
2. Optional: Change to an editable version.
3. If you will not have internet access, cache the area and layers you will need.

   You can skip these steps by loading a Configuration Package that includes everything you need.

4. Turn the visibility of the layer(s) you want to collect on.

Collection Overview

1. Navigate to the area you want to collect the new asset(s).
2. Expand the Layers menu and click on the layer you want to collect.
3. Click on the collection method that suits your needs best:
   • Sketch New - best for in office use or when there is no reliable GPS
   • Capture Now/Start Capture - best in the field where GPS accuracy is high
   • Capture with Averaging - best in the field where GPS accuracy is low
   Note

   If your data LRS and you don't have an active route selected, you will be directed to select an active route before you will be able to collect the new asset.

4. When capture is complete and you are ready to save the new feature, click the Unsaved features icon (exclamation point) and the draft dialog will expand in the right-side menu.
5. Enter the rest of the new feature's information into the New Feature form.
6. Click Save New.
